Acnacidol BG biofunctional
INCI: Butylene Glycol (and) 10-Hydroxydecanoic Acid (and) Sebacic Acid (and) 1,10-DecanediolProduct Category: Active
Acnacidol BG biofunctional is a nature-identical active composed of 10 hydroxydecanoic acid (10 HDA), sebacic acid and decanediol. 10 HDA is a ω hydroxy acid naturally present in the Royal Jelly. Acnacidol BG acts on the main factors involved in acne-prone skin by reducing sebum secretion (Hyperseborrhea) and decreases the number of active sebaceous glands. Additionally, it inhibits the development of P. acnes.
A single application of AcnacidolBG at 3% in a cream, considerably decreases sebum excretion within one hour.
Furthermore, Acnacidol BG at 3% induces a consistent and long-term decrease of sebum.
Acnacidol BG biofunctional at 2.5% inhibits the growth of various micro-organisms without inducing any cytotoxic effects and protects a nutritive medium from the growth of bacteria: It provides a dose-dependent antibacterial activity, starting at the dose of 0.5% and reaching a very effective protection level at 2.5%.
With application once for 2 days, at only 2.5%, Acnacidol BG significantly decreases the anti-bacterial activity on P. acnes.
Other than applications for acne-prone skin, Acnacidol BG and be used in hair care products for seboregulating properties, and in cosmetic products intended to deliver anti-bacterial purposes, such as deodorants.
