Product Category: Corrosion InhibitorCarboshield 1000 is an inhibitor that is effective when used in optimal concentrations and formulations. At the proper dilution, the inhibitor migrates to the metal/ solution interface and forms a mono-atomic film on the anodic sites. A reduction in aluminum pitting potential and staining as well as high tolerance for chlorides and hard water are also observed. If the inhibitor is too concentrated (greater than the 0.10 to 0.75% DDABC active recommended range), it can become non-effective due to clustering of the inhibitor into soluble micelles. DDABC also reduces water drop contact angles thereby increasing surface wetting. Carboshield 1000’s formulated inhibitor efficacy has been demonstrated on steel, aluminum, copper, brass, zinc galvanized steel, and other metals.
