CoatOSil DRI waterborne silicone can help reduce water uptake and improve UV resistance in organic waterborne coating compositions. Its innovative chemical structure enables CoatOSil DRI waterborne silicone to overcome the difficulties of combining silicone materials with organic waterborne resins.

CoatOSil DRI waterborne silicone has been shown to improve hydrophobicity and elongation properties when used as a co-binder with acrylic latexes, resulting in more flexible coatings and sealants. It may also be considered as a sole binder when maximizing thermal and UV stability is a priority. When applied aline, it typically cures at room temperature to form an elastomeric film.

The potential applications include roof coatings, exterior coatings, wood coatings and industrial coatings. CoatOSil DRI is compatible with a variety of waterborne polymer systems, including acrylics, styrene acrylics, epoxies, PUDs, and alkyds

Features and Benefits of CoatOSil DRI

  • Reduced water uptake and improves hydrophobicity when used as a co-binder in latex systems
  • A more flexible coating as a co-binder with acrylic latex, without detrimental effects on dirt pick-up
  • Improves coating flexibility under harsh weathering conditions
  • Improves corrosion performance in neutral salt spray testing
  • Compatible with many organic resin systems and pigments
  • Outstanding thermal and UV resistance when used as a sole binder
  • No adverse effects on adhesion and recoat
  • VOC free (by EPA)

Typical dosages of CoatOSil DRI waterborne silicone are between 5% and 30% when used as a co-binder in latex systems to improve water and UV resistance.
