Dermol MBDD is an excellent film forming polymeric emollient ester finding use in numerous cosmetic applications. It appears to function as a barrier in creams and lotions as well as adding body and spreading properties in emulsions. It provides outstanding shine, tack, water resistance and adhesion in lipsticks and lip gloss and is an excellent pigment wetter and binder for colour cosmetics. Dermol MBDD is a natural alternative to petroleum based paraffin waxes and synthetic emollients such as polyisobutenes and hydrogenated polyisobutenes used in pigmented products such as powders and foundations.
This product is soluble in most organic solvents such as silicones, alcohols, esters, ketones, mineral oil, vegetable oil, higher glycols, aliphatic, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons. It is insoluble in water, lower molecular weight diols and triols.
