SunCaps™ are innovative encapsulated UV filters, hermetically entrapped and sealed within unbreakable transparent cellulose-based polymer shells, which improve the UV protection profile, prevent skin penetration and increase photostability. Tagra’s patented SunCaps™ overcome incompatibilities among UV filters.

Tagra’s unique patented microencapsulation technology enables the manufacturing of “green” unbreakable, transparent micron size microcapsules of organic and inorganic UV filters. This delivery system will:

• Prevent the UV filter leakage into the surrounding
• Retain the sunscreen on the superficial layers of the skin
• Improve safety profile – no risk of skin penetration and no skin irritation and/or photoallergy
• Enhance UV filters chemical stability and photostability
• Overcome incompatibilities between or among UV filters allowing new sunscreen combinations
• Prevent the crystallization of Avobenzone
• Enable UV filters dispersibility in water phase
• Prevent the appearance of white residues caused by TiO2 and ZnO
• Avoid the need for UV filters solubilizers, therefore enabling light, aesthetic, gentle, smooth, and non-greasy feel formulations
• SunCaps™ exhibit improved sensorial profile with better tactile properties

• AvoCap™ encapsulated Avobenzone 56% payload and 14% of Octocrylene (INCI: Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Octocrylene, Cellulose Acetate)
• AvoCap™️2 – encapsulated avobenzone and cellulose acetate (INCI: Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane and Cellulose Acetate)
• OmcCap™ encapsulated Octyl Methoxycinnamate, 60% payload (INCI: Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Cellulose Acetate)
• HomCap™ encapsulated Homosalate, 60% payload (INCI: Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Cellulose Acetate)
