Verstatil® BL non GMO the new easy-to-use preservative blend, combining the well-known preservative sodium benzoate and the multifunctional skin conditioner sodium levulinate in a mild and safe preserving blend especially suited for surfactant and water-based products. The combination of organic acid salts at a use level between 1.5- 2.5% provides a reliable performance against all relevant germs.
All components of Verstatil® BL non GMO are approved for natural cosmetic by ECOCERT, COSMOS, and NaTrue. Therefore, this blend can be used as a cost-effective preservative system for certified natural rinse-off formulations, tonics, or wet wipe solutions. This product as a liquid may be added to the formulation at any step of the process. Moreover, in contrast to sorbate/benzoate blends this product does not tend to alter the colour of surfactant based products. This product is most effective at pH between 4.5-5.5, however, synergistic effects in combination with preserving boosters e.g. Glyceryl Caprylate have also been observed at higher pH.
